Tip Number 1.
I know for many of you this will be obvious, but it bears repeating and is your first priority…
KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!
This will be harder than it sounds. But you’re the one that spent the time looking for just the right spot. You’ve calculated the sun and how you’re going to be able to get out and water your ladies.
Don’t blow it by telling ANYONE! (That means no-one…)
Unfortunately, not only do people get greedy, but they can turn and the last thing you want is for them to use you and your crop as a bargaining chip. Once you’ve disclosed your own secret, there really is no recourse. The cat has left the bag- so don’t let your mouth be another unknown that you now have to account for…
Tip Number 2.
Protect you ladies from birds, deer and what ever other animals you might have around.
This is usually done with chicken wire. But remember you’re going to have to expand up, depending on the strain and how you’re topping them.
So figure that this will have to be some sort of enclosed system of chicken-wire and bird-netting.
You’ll figure it out- just remember you want to attract as little attention as possible.
Tip Number 3.
Try to pick area that have a variety of plants. The the change in color and texture of the foliage will be a benefit to you. Also, if you need to make rearrangements so your girls get more light, that’s not a problem.
Enjoy the process, be creative. At the same time keep your time in spot and gear (including water transported) to a minimum.
To that end, make up an easy excuse as to why you might be out there. If you think of it before hand, you don’t have Johnny on the Spot. …why is Johnny at that spot?
Remember, you can shop for strains that are generally really short (usually, Indicas).
That said, you could also do a hell of a lot to creatively grow your plants. It’s better to grow small and no blow out a spot than to go big and loose it all. Catch my drift?
